How Has China’s Largest Desert Produced Endless Stretches of Fertile Farmland？中国最大沙漠，何以种出一望无际的良田

The Taklimakan Desert spans 337,600 square kilometers — the world's second-largest shifting desert, often called the "Sea of Death."

Now, across more than 1,700 mu of land here — roughly 113 hectares — trees, shrubs, and dozens of Chinese herbs are thriving.

And now, scientists are going a step further — not just stopping the sand, but making the desert create real value.

塔克拉玛干沙漠面积33.76万平方公里，是世界第二大流动沙漠，曾被称为“死亡之海”。

现在，这里有1700多亩土地已经种上了乔木、灌木和几十种中草药，长势喜人。

而且，科学家们正在做一件更深远的事——不只是防沙治沙，还要让沙漠创造价值。
